To Live and Die in Syosset Schools

Today my family was subjected to the absolute worst qualities that a school administrator...no---make that--a human being can offer. Ego getting in the way of a child's best interests; and spite and revenge showing their ugliest presence as a means of sending a message. The Principal at our school, Mary Tabone and her sidekick, Marcus Crenshaw the school psychologist drew a line in the sand in deciding just how accommodating they were willing to be in supporting the special needs of my son-a 4th grader. Never mind that this tag team had agreed to a support and re-integration plan along with out private psychologist-they were adamant that no flexibility would be permitted. That a 9 year old must stick to the letter of this Plan without deviation. That having the child in school was less important than their insistence that they call the shots in this scenario. With no recourse and no options to help my son with his overwhelming school phobia and anxiety disorder, I phoned the School District Superintendent's office. You know--the one with the highest comp plan in the nation? Well apparently getting an audience with her is harder than getting an audience with the Pope--as her "handlers" run significant interference to ensure that she never has to interface with her subjects..er--her constituents? parents?

Well, the Principal and her clown prince school psychologist decided that my punishment for having the audacity to go directly (over?) to the Superintendent would be based in revenge. And boy-this was a doozy. About an hour after my conversation with the Superintendent's office, a knock on my door produced someone from Child Protective Services. Called by the vengeful, spiteful principal to further scare and intimidate me and my family into seeing things their way.

My son had a panic attack in school last week and ran out of the school and into the street. The school allowed this to happen. The school allowed this to happen. More to come...
